Workspace - Create and Manage Workspaces

Create, edit, activate, and manage ChatMaxima workspaces. Set each workspace name and description and control which workspaces are active for your team.

Overview

A workspace is a self-contained ChatMaxima environment with its own members, channels, conversations, and settings. The Workspace section lets admins create new workspaces, update existing ones, and activate or deactivate them. Use separate workspaces to keep different brands, teams, or business units fully isolated.

To open it, go to SettingsWorkspace (/dashboard/workspace/manage/).

Note: Workspace management is available to Admins on the default team only. The number of workspaces you can create is set by your plan.

Managing Workspaces

The manage view lists every workspace with its current state.

ColumnDescription
Workspace NameThe display name of the workspace
Created DateWhen the workspace was created
ActiveStatus badge, Active or Inactive
ActionsEdit, activate, or deactivate the workspace

Open the Actions dropdown on any row to:

  • Edit Workspace - change its name and description
  • Activate Workspace - bring a deactivated workspace back online
  • Deactivate Workspace - take a workspace offline without deleting it

Creating a Workspace

  1. Go to SettingsWorkspace.
  2. Click Create Workspace.
  3. Enter a Workspace Name.
  4. Add a Description to explain the workspace's purpose.
  5. Click Create Workspace to save.

The new workspace appears in the manage list and counts toward your plan's workspace limit.

Editing a Workspace

  1. Find the workspace in the manage list.
  2. Open ActionsEdit Workspace.
  3. Update the Workspace Name or Description.
  4. Click Update Workspace to save your changes.

Best Practices

  • Use clear names - name workspaces by brand or team so members can identify them at a glance.
  • Deactivate instead of deleting - deactivation keeps history intact and is reversible.
  • Watch your plan limit - if you cannot create a new workspace, you have reached your plan's workspace allowance.

Troubleshooting

I cannot create a new workspace

  1. Confirm you are an Admin on the default team.
  2. Check your plan's workspace limit on the Usage Summary page.

The Workspace section is not visible

  1. Workspace management requires admin access on the default team. Ask a workspace owner to grant it.
