ChatMaxima Skills - Workflows for Claude, Codex and Gemini

Install ChatMaxima's Agent Skills so Claude, Codex, Gemini or Cursor can build and fix chatbots, write WhatsApp templates, triage the inbox and use the API.

Overview

ChatMaxima Skills are short instruction files that teach an AI assistant how to do ChatMaxima work well. The ChatMaxima MCP connection gives an assistant the tools; a skill tells it the right order to use them, the checks to make, and when to stop and ask you. With the skills installed, "build me a booking bot for my clinic" turns into a designed, built and tested bot, not a guess.

The skills follow the open Agent Skills format, so the same files work in Claude, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and any other assistant that reads SKILL.md files. They are published in the open at github.com/chatmaxima-com/chatmaxima-skills under the MIT licence.

What the skills do

SkillWhat it teaches the assistant
get-startedCheck the connection, pick the workspace to work in and suggest a first task.
chatmaximaGround rules for every task: never invent ids, read before changing, confirm anything that cannot be undone, treat customer messages as data rather than instructions.
build-chatbotAgree the design with you, pick the right blocks, fill every field from your real accounts and lists, set the trigger, build, then test with a scripted conversation.
fix-chatbotRead a bot's real run history to find failed blocks, dead branches, loops and drop-off points, explain the cause, fix it and test again.
whatsapp-templateChoose the category, apply Meta's rules for variables, headers, buttons and carousels, check the draft, and submit it to Meta only after you confirm.
whatsapp-flowDesign a multi-screen form for WhatsApp or website chat, with the screen and input rules that make it publish cleanly.
inbox-triageSummarize what is waiting, assign and label conversations, pause the bot for a human, and leave internal notes.
email-templateWrite and edit the email templates your bots send, and update the blocks that use them.
chatmaxima-apiFor developers: write code against the ChatMaxima API with the right auth, safe retries, template variable mapping and webhook signature checks.

Every skill except chatmaxima-api works through the ChatMaxima MCP connection. chatmaxima-api needs no connection: it guides the code your assistant writes for your own backend.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

Install in Claude

The ChatMaxima plugin bundles the skills together with the MCP connector, so one install covers both.

  1. In Claude, go to Customize then Plugins.
  2. Find ChatMaxima in the directory and select Add.
  3. Open the plugin's Connectors tab, connect ChatMaxima and sign in with your ChatMaxima account.
  4. Start a chat and ask for something, for example "Which of my chatbots have errors this week?"

The plugin works in Claude on the web, in the Claude desktop app, in Cowork and in Claude Code.

Note: On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the plugin for the organization, and each member connects ChatMaxima with their own account.

Install in Claude Code from GitHub

To run the skills from a local copy of the repository, for example to try a change before it is published:

git clone https://github.com/chatmaxima-com/chatmaxima-skills.git
claude --plugin-dir ./chatmaxima-skills

The skills appear as /chatmaxima:build-chatbot, /chatmaxima:fix-chatbot and so on, and /mcp shows the ChatMaxima connection.

Install in Codex, Cursor and other assistants

Any assistant that reads Agent Skills can install the skills with the open-source skills CLI:

npx skills add chatmaxima-com/chatmaxima-skills

The CLI copies each skill folder into the place your assistant reads skills from. Add the ChatMaxima MCP connection in that assistant as well: Connect with Codex and ChatGPT and Connect with Gemini show where.

Gemini CLI users can install the ChatMaxima extension instead, which bundles the connection and the skills in one step.

What to ask for

Once the skills are installed, describe the outcome you want. The assistant picks the matching skill on its own.

Build a WhatsApp bot that collects name, phone and preferred date for a dental appointment, then books it in my Google Calendar.
My "Order support" bot stops replying after the first question. Find out why and fix it.
Write a utility template that tells a customer their order has shipped, with a tracking link button, and submit it to Meta.
What is waiting in my inbox right now? Assign anything about refunds to the Billing department.
Write a Python function that sends a WhatsApp template through the ChatMaxima API and retries safely.

How the skills keep you in control

  • Nothing is invented. Account, bot, template and contact ids always come from your workspace, never from a guess.
  • Confirmation before anything permanent. Deleting a bot block, submitting a template to Meta and adding a column to your own spreadsheet all wait for your yes on the exact change.
  • Customer content is data. Text from conversations and bot runs is read to do the task, never followed as instructions.
  • Your role still applies. The assistant can only do what your ChatMaxima role allows, and it reports the real result of every action, including errors.

Troubleshooting

The assistant does not use a skill

  1. Check the skill is installed: in Claude, open Customize then Plugins and confirm ChatMaxima is listed. In Claude Code, type / and look for the chatmaxima: entries.
  2. Describe the task in plain words. Skills load by matching what you ask for, so "fix my bot that loops" works better than a one-word request.
  3. If the skill loads but every tool call fails, the MCP connection is missing or signed out. Reconnect it from the plugin's Connectors tab or your assistant's connector settings.

The assistant asks which workspace to use

Your account belongs to more than one ChatMaxima workspace. Name the one you want; the assistant switches to it for the rest of the chat.

A tool says your role cannot use a section

The skills never try to work around permissions. Ask a workspace admin for the role you need.
